Member of Parliament for Truro and Falmouth, Sarah Newton,  today welcomed the Secretary of State for Transport, Patrick McLoughlin MP to Truro railway station.   Sarah, who has been working with the Head of Transport for Cornwall Council, Nigel Blackler and the Local Enterprise Partnership to secure improvements for Cornish rail services commented:   “By combining the improvements now being delivered through the Cornwall Rail Package, with those which could be announced in the forthcoming Direct Award, we have the opportunity to take a railway conceived and built in the 19th Century and transform it into a public transport system fit for the 21st century.”
